Stop Motion - Peer Review

In this assignment I am going to get feedback from my peers in order to review my animation. Once I have gathered all my feedback from Padlet I am going to analyse the results. So I can critically assess my work.

What is your own personal response to the animation you have been produced?

Overall, I am very happy with how my animation turned out, however, I wish it was a lot longer. I have spent over a year collecting the images to use for this animation, so I am happy I could finally put it all into one video to show people.

What is your response to the feedback you have received?

I set up a page on Padlet.com, which allowed me to gather comments on one page with no fuss. My class offered feedback after watching the animation.

The feedback for my stop motion animation can be seen at this link: http://padlet.com/wall/xz0mp2o0vpa1

Other class mates who peer reviewed my work also gave feedback and some suggested improvements for me and things I could have done differently.

Most of the comments positively portrayed my work and I am content with how they reviewed the animation.

This comment suggested that the animation would have been better if the video wasn't as jolty, meaning that the positioning of my face changed slightly throughout the video. The jolty-ness caused by different positions of my head began as an accident, but I ended up really liking how it all looked so I started to do it on purpose. I will still consider everyone's suggestions, though. Here are a few constructive comments that I received:

Based on this level of response, how could you have improved your production?

Based on the feedback I received from my peers, I believe I could improve this animation by maybe keeping the background constant throughout the video and definitely continue this project for a many more years to come, which will result in a longer video that shows more physical change and would in turn make the video much more interesting to watch.

I think that a different choice of music would have actually worked better for the video as well, as the music I chose was not original and had been used on a similar video in the past. To improve this, I would obviously add better music that fits the video or extra sound effects maybe.

Will you make these improvements to your production based on your feedback?

I will be continuing this personal project for hopefully many more years to come, which will improve the video. When the project is done, I will create a final video displaying the photographs that show my physical change over decades. Only then, however, will I need to edit the video, so I have plenty of time to consider the comments I have received and apply the necessary adjustments to wherever they are needed.
